River Classifications

The following is a list of standard classifications used to describe the skill levels necessary to navigate the region's rivers:

It's important to understand that the classification of rivers can vary greatly depending on changing water levels. For example, a Class III section of the New River can easily become of Class IV or even Class V when spring rains drive the water levels and water flow higher.
